Ok I just got some bangin aftermarket beat. An amp and two 12's, I was going to hook it up with a line output converter but I can't hook it up to the wires that run into the factory amp because they aren't even hooked up to the factory radio. In fact, the pins that the connector hooks to on the back of the radio aren't even there. I guess someone broke them. So what do i do? How can I hook my beat up? Someone told me that I couldn't splice into the other speaker wires because it wouldn't sound right. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm trying to beat down the block and knock pictures off the wall. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

do you have an after market stereo?? and i had a Cadillac with the factory amp and in order to hook my stuff up i had to go to the stereo shop and buy a 6 ft wire harness ( amp was in the trunk) to run from the stereo to the amp after that all was good most generally if you go to a place that installs stereos just ask them what they think and if they are cool they will probably hook you up with the info and some pointers o and ya if you splice the wires you probably wouldnt get no sound thats the other problem i had

I have the factory stereo and amp. In my old car I just spliced in to one of the rear speakers but I've been told that is not possible on the Explorer.

Is is possible to disable the low pass filter in the radio so that I can splice into one of the door speakers?

im gonna be honest its would probably be so much easier to just get an after market stereo with all that you can get some speaker wire and bypass the factory amp and run your speaker strait to the stereo and then hook up your amp and subs. you did say the radio was broke right.
