2000 Ford Explorer no start

There is no power to anything. Security light flashes constantly. Car was running fine. Went into the house, came out 20 min. later and nothing. Battery and cables all seem fine.

This might sound silly, but fist thing to do is clean the battery terminals, even if they seem clean. While you are there could you measure the battery voltage?
