I have searched but been unable to find any posts on a limited cruise control switch replacement. Mine have fallen apart and I have got a couple of used switches. Question is how do I replace them. Does not look as straight forward as the non limited / EB steering wheel. Not sure if I have to pull the steering wheel? Any help would be appreciated.

I do not know what the other posts you have looked say, but you have to remove the steering wheel cover with the air bags for both yours and the regular edition. After you disconnect the battery and drain any charge left in the system, there are two plastic covers on the each side of the steering wheel cover and you carefully pop them out remove the bolts that hold on the cover, remove the cover and you can see the switches and how they are installed. I removed my entire steering wheel and replaced the switches and wiring though you may be able to just disconnect the switches and reinstall if you are careful.

i've never had to mess with the switches on Limited style steering wheel, but i suspect crunchie frog's directions are correct. once you gain access to the switches, if they are anything like the XLT/Sport type switches, changing them is pretty easy. the hard part is getting the ribbon wires to disconnect from the old switch. the problem is that the bottom of the plugs get hung up on a lip on the switch. to get them to come apart i used a .020 feeler gauge inserted under the plug. a thin butter knife may also work. if you're buying new switches, they may come with new ribbon wires attached, but i didn't want to mess with installing new wires in the column.

No, it is NOT correct. If you're looking just to replace the switch units on a LIMITED edition, use a very small screwdriver and gently pry the switch out from the foam overlay of the steering wheel. The switches are held in place with a couple of shallow tabs in the foam. The foam will flex and release the switch. You can then unplug the connector, connect the replacement, and press it back in the steering wheel.

wow, that sounds too easy. way easier than the cheaper model switches. good to know as i have 3 trucks with the Limited style controls.

I have a 1998 Limited Explorer that needs the cruise switch replaced. Did you try this? Did it work? Where did you buy the switch?

I replaced mine
Pull the steering wheel and replace the switches and ribbon wires at the same time takes a half hour put the steering wheel straight before you start

I replaced mine, and did not bother pulling the steering wheel. The switches pop right out. Was less than a 5 minute job for me.

If you do decide to pull the steering wheel , no pulley required. Loosen the center bolt (not all the way off) and pull/wiggle the steering wheel. It will come loose.
