Here is a (really) rough photochop of my plan.

Are you going to get 31's or you going to do a BL TT WS and go for 33's?

Ive been reading and it seems that TT and shackles are all I need to fit 33". I don't mind doing a little fender trimming.;)

I may just stick with 31" due to stock rim size. I will see how it all goes, if I do enough wheeling I will look for a set of 10" wide steelys.

you cant fit 33's without some Serious rubbing, you would have tons of steering problems, and couldnt flex at all. you need a BL to correctly run 33's

Yeah, BL to make it off-roadable with the 33's And 15x8 is recommended over 15x10 because the 10s will be a lot more stress on the hubs and those go out enough already.

I thought you needed a 10" wide rim to run a 12.5 inch tire?

nice rough draft =p very rough

That's what wheel places recommend, but you can actually run them on your stock 7" wheel if you want. Most people run an 8" wheel because a 10" runs a better chance of loosing a bead.

I run a 15x8 wheel and its 12.5 wide...no rubbing and looks great!

false.

Also you Can run 33's. refer to my thread in this section ( 33s Body lift illegal in Maine) I posted up a couple links on I think page 5 to people who have done it with trimming. And one who didnt want to trim and was rubbing with the aftermarket rims and 12.5" Wide MT's.

With the stock offset rims. a 33x10.5 should fit with minor trimming with the TT and Shackle.

If you wanted 12.5's Alot more trimming will be needed.

If you wanted a non-stock off set rim. Your going to need more trimming.

You can see in the first thread where the guy *test fitted* His 33x12.5x15's and after market rims. With tt and shackle and said he wouldnt drive like that with out alot of trimming. The trimming looks pretty minor to me that he would have to do Ive cut up fenders alot more then that before.
But there is more then enough wheel space from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender.

Im personaly going to go for it. Ive been reading and looking for 2 months and as I said before with a 10.5 it will be alot easier then a 12.5.
You shouldnt go with a 10" Wide rim. Its just sticking out further to hit more stuff on the trails and will require tons more trimming.

And more hub stress.

And more hub stress.
I think that depends on the backspacing - as scrub radius is dependent on backspacing. If the ratio between wheel width and backspacing is the same as the original, then there really is no significant increase in hub stress.

True, but a lot of people don't put too much attention to the backspacing (which in turn gives issues down the road), but good point.

I've always loved the 10 wide look, but I think it's more practical to use 8. I guess it depends on use.
