Can the oil pan be removed with the motor in the truck . Its a 2000 Mounty 5.0 2WD Auto .
I have a Knock from the back of the block and just want to see if its a rod and can i just put some new bearings in it without spending too much on it right now .

Try a compression check first to see which hole has the problem.

If they are all the same it may not be a rod.

Could be cracked flex plate or loose converter bolts.

I though I had a rod knock. Turns out the top of the #1 piston had vaporized due to detonation.

It runs rough but No codes at all . It died when coasting downhill I went to give it gas and motor had shut down . When I got it started it was running rough and had a knock . Battery was dead when i tried to start it again . When I jumped it it sounded like a rod in the back . I took the starter off and flex plate and converter bolts are all good .
