2001 Explorer sport trac

I have purchased a used 2001 explorer sport trac. Everything runs great, but when I turn the steering wheel at an idle the engine RPM's drop enough to cause a rough idle. I have already done the obvious such as replacing air filters and fuel filters and cleaning the throttle body. Any suggestions???

I have the same problem with my 2001 sport trac. only have that drop in RPM when turning. Did you figure out what it is?

I had the same thing. It was the valving in the rack and pinion steering that caused the problem.
