I am having the following issues and really need help

1. Turn signals do not work *
2. Lower brake lights do not work only upper
3. Something is draining my battery if sits idol for a few days

* researched this issue and think it has to do with the tilt on the steering wheel. I use to be able to get the right turn signal to work and the left to "kinda work" if I had the wheel tilted all the way up. My wife let a friend drive it and she tilted it down and since then nothing works.

Checked the brake light fuse in the dash and looked good.

Anybody help?

Wiring connector at the multifunction switch breaks and the wires pull out. You can get a repair connector at the dealer.

I had the same problem this week, it started when I started to drive my girlfriends 2001 sport trac and moved the wheel to a lower postion and I had signal problems, then the lower brake lights went out compleatly, my mechanic found the problem, it is the wiring harness up front that is boldted to the frame when the wheel is moved the wires are torn loose from the wiring harness, Ford does not stock or make the harness anymore it is obsolite, this is a very dangerous problem, To make a long story short they made me a new harness and everything is working fine, but the wheel must remain in a fixed position permenently. they charged me $333.00 for the work at Tire Kingdom.

The wiring that is too short and gets pulled loose is on the steering column. It connects to the multifunction switch. I don't know what they told you but it has nothing to do with the frame, not even near the frame (if you're referring to the vehicle frame). Ford does make replacement/repair pigtail harnesses for the multifunction switch connector, about $40.Once repaired and additional slack allowed, the tilt can be used as designed.

my battery will drain overnight if i dont turn the interior lights off at the dimmer switch, plus if i leave the stereo on even if only in acc mode it will drain the battery in about an hour cant figure it out, only thing i can figure is the aftermarket stereo is to much for battery, shouldnt be its just a stereo no amp, and i didnt cut the factory harness, used connectors, so i leave interior lights off and dont run stereo if vehicle isnt running
