2001 ford explorer sport RWD engine swap help

Recently my engine has been acting up. Alot of shaking. I checked compression and some give me 90psi some give me 145psi. im not totally sure whats going on. Misfire on 2,5,6. My question is i found a donor truck same year same everything except its a 4x4. would that matter if i do a engine swap? what is difference or what would have to be changed in order for it to work.? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

No, it would have an additional balance shaft but that's not a problem AFAIK. What would be changed is swap everything over from the old engine that isn't the same as on the new, except being the same engine and year, practically everything is going to be the same.

If it's a SOHC make sure to change all the timing chain related stuff before slapping it in.

How bad is the donor car? Any chance of saving it instead since it's 4wd?

It's good condition thing is my father gave me my rwd fixed up and everything right after I registered it. Starts misfiring and sounds like a semi
