2002 4.6 High Idle

2002 4.6 just recently started to idle at 2200 rpm. I installed a new TPS and IAC and the problem did not get fixed. No codes are being reported so what do I do next?

check for vacuum leaks or a hose disconnected

I checked for vacume leaks and did not find any. when I pull off the TPS connection the comes down but when I put it back on it goes right back to 2000 rpm.

might be TPS, can you check for any codes. . is there a check engine light?

Fixed

I completely unhooked the battery and reset the computer and the idle came back down to normal. Fixed. Thanks.

Had exact same problem, changed IAC & TPS also w/o success. Unhooked neg post for 5 min... Voila, smooth idle. Wish I had seem this earlier!

Right before the problem started, I went to start the X and released the key too soon with no start. Re-engaged the key and started. didn't seem to catch right away, but fired off. took about a mile of driving before I noticed the high idle with bad shifting and more braking at stops. Don't know if bad start was cause or coincidence??

I feel the same as the last post wish I seen this sooner. changed IAC same issue. checked TSP voltages were correct. Thought for sure had a vacuum issue but couldn't find it. Cleared codes with scanner. still same issue. disconnected battery for 5 min and all issues are gone. Thanks for the post!!
