Hi, new to the forum here...

Has anyone added driving lights to the bumper of 3rd gen explorer/mountaineers? I know there is a sticky with a ton of pics on older explorers but I haven't found any 3rd gen pics on there. I have searched for a while and finally am giving up and starting a thread.

I'm looking for something similar this:

Has anyone done this or have any suggestions?

make a custom bracket and mount it to the top of the hole there in the bumper.

There's actually a metal crossbar behind the hole that I will probably use if I don't get any better suggestions. It doesn't feel like there is any metal behind the upper part of the bumper and I don't want to mount them to plastic.

Ok I don't see any metal on mine, but I guess they are all different. If you want to do it in that spot without messing up your bumper and making sure they are on there good, heres your best bet:

There is a black horizontal piece of plastic right in the middle of the bumper right above the tag holder that covers up some metal bar. I should be able to drill into the metal, it will be covered by the plastic if I remove the lights. I don't want to use a push bar or grille guard.
