So the tc motor does nothing when going from 4 auto to 4 high? Then I’m really confused because I don’t understand what it could be everyone I see that had issues with the module had issues with the 4x4 lights in some way but I don’t they act normal but I get no noise when going to 4x4 high no clicking from the module and no sound of nubs locking but hitting 4x4 low I hear the module click and the motor making sound but that’s it the lights all come on normal and act normal
@Tedmar
Let's run through the sequence. You are standing still, engine running, NO 4X4 LIGHTS are on. That means it is in 4X4 AUTO. Depress 4X4 HIGH button, 4X4 HIGH light immediately illuminates on the dash panel. That means the Electronic Clutch, which provides power to the front wheels only, has been energized. Depress 4X4 AUTO button, light goes out, clutch is de-energized.
Still standing, eng. running, NO 4X4 LIGHTS are on. Depress 4X4 LOW button while holding brake pedal depressed and shifter in NEUTRAL, TC motor shifts the low gears into mesh, Electronic Clutch is turned ON, 4X4 LOW LIGHT illuminates, vehicle is then in 4X4 LOW.
To leave 4X4 LOW, depress brake, shifter in Neutral, press EITHER 4X4 HIGH, or 4X4 AUTO button, TC motors shifts gears out of mesh.
Two relays, which indeed may be heard to click, if the vehicle is prior to 2004, are used to engage 4X4 LOW. 2004 and up have NO 4X4 Module, the relays are mounted under the hood, in eng. compartment (can't hear them click).
Also, 2nd. Gen. have no locking hubs of any kind. The front driveshaft rotates whenever the vehicle is in motion, regardless of 4X4 settings. imp
