2002 Explorer, A/C only blowing defrost vents.

So my a/c is only blowing through my defrost vents and side vents by the door. Ive found the problem but im unsure on how to fix it. Here is the problem:

I dont know whether I need to take off the dash and if that can be replaced or what. But that last image is what broke off and hit me in the leg during a road trip last year. Any help would be appreciated.

I've had that thread book marked for a long time waiting for one of my actuator arms to break off. If you make up some kind of splint please post follow up pics.
