Well I am a new member and this is my first post. Sooo glad I found this forum. Well here is what the issue is and what I have done so far....
From 3-4 its the typical rev up to 3-4k RPM and once I ease off the gas it will engage into OD. The OD light flashes, Check Transmission comes on and Check Engine has come on.
It kicks into Limp mode until I shut it down. I have tightened the band.. (which is still has some slack BTW) and replaced the Solenoid pack.
Its still doing the same thing. Seems to get worse when I have test drove it a few miles, then shut it down and it seems to not rev as high to engage.
Should I try to the servo Boro pin fix? I am not a transmission specialist. Ironically, I am selling it in March to buy another later model one because with my job I put tons of miles on it.
What would you guys do at this point? Used Transmissions (if its even that) are 1k plus labor.
I would like a temp fix for a few months, but hearing horror stories of spending 3-4k at the dealer and the problem comes back in a couple weeks.
What do you guys suggest I could try that is inexpensive? Or anything I could check? What else could cause this that is not mentioned above?
Can I use something like a Lucas Transmission liquid that is heavier if the Servo Boro is worn and its letting fluid through? Will a thicker fluid help?
Thanks for any advice?
