Was thinking about doing some performance mod's to my 2002. Wanted some opinions if it is worth it and also what recomendations any one could make. Thanks.:D

We have been doing some testing here at Explorer Express. We have trying some things on a non-supercharged 2002 XLS 4.0 SOHC. We have our own custom air box that uses a K & N filter in the works. It is mated to a specialy calibrated Pro-M Mass Air Sensor and a Gibson Exhaust. The results are GOOD! These mods help this vehicle a lot. We are preparing to release it as a package.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have an Apten chip, KKM intake, and Gibson exhaust on my O2 sport and I am very glad I did it.

i have just the KKM, and i've very pleased with it, i'm also planning on going with a flowmaster 50 here in a little bit. I've been throwing around the idea of a chip but gas prices are shooting up and i think i'm gona hold off... ...but for all in all i'm very pleased with my sohc...also its a 97 not a 2002, just so u don't get confused or anything.:D

Good to here about the package. I will be awaiting it's release. Thanks a lot for the reply.

I was thinking in the mean time about putting a K&N air filter in the stock air box and then drilling out some holes in the bottom of the air box to increase air flow. Any opinions?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Don't have enough.

Put a K&N filter in my stock air box, that I swiss cheesed. Anyone who owns a SOHC like mine, I recommend it for a cheap mod. Will probably go with a good intake and exhaust later, but for now, WOW!!!!Get on it hard and in the middle of the rpm band the engine is a lot more throaty as it sucks down that fresh air. Anxious to see what it does to my gas mileage, if I can keep my foot out of it.
