2002 sport crank no start

My 2002 explorer sport has an intermittent crank no start. The cel goes out while it cranks, the theft light doesn't blink, it only happens when it's hot and I stop somewhere for a short period of time. Once I let it sit for a while it seems to tire right up. Has anyone else had this problem?

My 2001 5.0L Eddie Bauer did this regularly for years. Finally the fuel pump went out. I replaced it and it hasn't done the "hot no start" since. Can you hear the fuel pump prime when it's not starting? Check your fuel pressure when it doesn't want to start.

Chris I had similar problems, replaced fuel pump no more problems. Well only once, had to jiggle the CKP sensor connection.

I've had to giggle the CKP a couple of times (on our '97 SOHC) too. Guess it can have a poor connection. No crank signal, no spark, no start.
