you can just buy a muffler if you know how to weld and the inlet and outlet come out at the same spot off set center or dual. one of them but if you dont change your stock piping all thats going to happen is it will get louder and no power change. and you dont need an entire kit find a muffler you like get 2 1/2, 2 1/4 inch inlet/outlet and then go to a muffler shop and have them bed up some new pipe or you can buy some bends and some straight pipe and cut and weld

i got dual 40 series flowmasters on my 01 sport and it sounds real loud and deep I got the 2 1/2 inch tips but i wish i got bigger like 3 or 3 1/2 inch.

On the flowmaster site it says our sport comes with the 70 series big block II I previously had that on my 01 sport when i bought it. And it was the quietest flowmaster. So I called a muffler shop and told them which flowmaster is loud and deep. They told me the 40 series.

So I went and got the dual 40 series flowmasters on my 01 sport and I can tell a difference between my old flows and now.

I love my 40 series its real loud and deep.

I herd that the 40 series flow sounds too much like a street car sound.. is this ture?
and which did you end up going with Tarmy?

wubabo i love the sound on my 01 sport i got the dual 40 series it sounds real loud and deep. Some people think i got an 8 cylinder on my 01 sport but i tell them its the 4.0 sohc V-6 engine and they say wow that doesnt even sound like a V6.

do you think that the 40s would stilll sound v8ish on my 99' explorer sport
even though i dont have duel exaust?

i am not sure wubabo i got dual 40 series flows on my 01 sport and it sounds real loud and deep.

A large diameter single will be deeper sounding than a dual exhaust, my opinion. I don't like the look of a dual exhaust setup on a vehicle that didn't come with it factory. As well as a good mandrel bent single system will produce the same power as a dual setup. -j

flowmeister

I just got a 40 series, put on my 02 ex today, just replaced the factory muffler and removed the tailpipe, it has the new tailpipe coming out in front of the right rear tire. Its not very loud compared to most cars ive owned but when i get a catless y pipe it should be ALOT louder. I love the sound of going about 35-40 in first and letting off...very nice rumble...

mr. p u got pics of ur sport and u got a sound clip of the exhaust as well.

not sure if the pictures will work first time posting a picture in a forum ;)

anyways yea the muffler is getting louder the more i drive it or im going insane. either way its getting better. eventually im gonna get headers and go catless, prolly with a slp loud mouth but this flowmaster is a temp. fix should hold out 6 or so months ok the pictures didnt work http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3017214 thats the car domain

yea

yea im not a huge fan of the gold, im getting it painted tomorrow or the next day because some powerline wires landed on it in sac at work, i told them to repaint the gray cladding, remove all the emblems cept the ford of course, they are adding a crystal pearl to the paint so hopefully thatll give it a more custom look, and color sand and buffing the crap out of it. so idk how its gonna turn out im contemplating shaving the atenna and roof rack while their at it. i would have painted the whole car but i refused to pay 2400$ on top of the 4500$ the company is paying for the stock paint job, so ill be paying around 600$ for the body cladding but itll be worth it.i like your fog lights, and your exhaust, could use some nice tips, and window tint. so far the tinting is most noticable mod ive made.

do u got aim or yahoo messanger

so do you think that the flow 40 on 4.0 sport will sound like a v8 or no
