2003 Ford Explorer Blinker Problems

Hi guys, new to the forum. Looking for help with a tricky left blinker problem with our 2003 Ford Explorer. Running light there works fine. Left blinker and brake light are inop. Front blinker blinks rapidly. It's not the bulb. I'm not getting any signal at socket. I've read through similar posts and found that it's not likely the flasher relay because the right turn signal works fine. Other solutions have been the tilting steering column and the problem doesn't seem to be there. I checked the ground on the trailer wiring harness and that doesn't seem to be it. Any suggestions?

there are 2 areas where it could fail, the flasher relay or the multi-switch. If you press the flasher/hazard button does the left and right tail light work at the same time?
the brake light issue could be a different issue of its own..
