2003 Explorer Sport Trac
Hey, newbie here.

Just picked up my Sport Trac, but it's got open diff on front and back. Already found the LSD for the back I wanted, easy to do with the 8.8 inch.

What I'm really wondering: has anyone completed a front axle SAS? I had a Bronco II with a Dana 44 front and a Ford 9 Inch rear. That was sweet. Also had 4.88:1 gearing. Hopefully can find some good gearing for the new rig.

Really the reason for the SAS is that I don't want to deal with finding parts for the Dana 35 that I think is on it. Not sure what is on it though.

Thanks for any input

Yes, you have a Dana 35 IFS front. I used a Dana 44 out of an 88 Grand Waggy for my SAS. Cheap and easy to find parts for. A few others have used the same axle. Check out my SAS registry linked below for more on my build.

There's more info there than you could ever ask for! An easy way to start is by looking at the SAS index found here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=312683
It's organized by type of vehicle, type of axle and type of suspension (coils vs leaves, etc.).
