So I picked up this Spart Trac a couple years ago. One of the things wrong with it was the shift was hard to get into park. After looking online I found where the two bolts up in the steering column would work loose and cause this problem. I got those bolts tightened up and it fixed the problem. Now, it started again. I figured I would tighten those back up and the problem would be fixed, but the bolt thats towards the driver side, actually has broke off the dog ear housing where it bolts to. So there is nothing for one of the two bolts to tighten to. Looks like a spring is pushing the shift arm way out of alignment.
Ideas on what to do to fix this? Does the entire steering column have to come out??
