I need to replace the coolant, what type is it, can I just drain the radiator and refill? As far as I know it has never been changed. What about the radiator hoses etc. at this age should they also be replaced? Thanks!

Drain and refill will only replace 50% of your coolant and you need to do frequent coolant changes to keep the system fresh (every year initially and 1-2 yrs afterwards). For 2003-up Zerex G-05 is the same as Motorcraft Premium (yellow coolant) Flushing is recommended if you want the service interval longer (5 years)

The hoses are still good for my 2002, I don't think they need replacement unless you see cracks or swollen areas.

I used Peak in my case since it's a universal coolant and I got a huge discount from advance auto. In my area only Napa carries Zerex and this is ideal for my truck (i got no discount and the store is far away). Planning on switching later. A $20 pre-diluted mix from the stealership is a rip off.

Thanks! Pics and all! I'll definitely be doing this ASAP.

You should probably flush if you have never had a change done. You can also use Prestone Extended Life.

Any benefit to using something like RMI-25 additive?
Thanks.
