Hey guys. I'm brand new to the forums and hoping someone can help me. I am posting because of problems I am having with my 2003 Ford Explorer XLT with 53k miles on it. I just bought it recently from a used car dealership and my service engine soon light has come on a few times. In further detail, it only flashes for about 10-20 seconds and it comes on very rarely (once a week). It seems to happen after my car hesitates (a rough feeling either while driving or at idle). I have expierenced this on the road, after hesitating it seems to kick into another gear and my car accelerates quickly as though its having issues shifting into gear. Another thing to keep in mind is that the Service Engine Soon light does NOT blink after everytime my truck hesitates. I have run my own OBD scanner and I brought it to my dealership and we both could not read any codes. I am wondering if anyone has ever had this wierd problem or if anyone can help. Please feel free to ask questions if I did not explain this problem thorough enough to understand.

Thanks.

Blinking check engine light is an urgent error, and means it is misfiring.

if misfires arent constant, it wont save the code...my experience when that happened was it was a clogged fuel filter
