Greetings--
04 EXP 130k miles on it. MOst all are highway- very very little city driving
Hesitates when going into REV-- takes 2-3 sec then pops into gear.
Note- it did this when new after 10-12k miles-- FORD added some sort of fliud to it and it stopped-- until now.
Rough shifting through gears at mid to high highway speeds
I"ve searched around her some about rebuild vs fliud replacement vs flushing it.
From what I uderstand, this model doesnt have an easily servicable fliter and fluid change process.
An aquantance has a auto shop suggested that try a flush. If that doesnt work, I"d have to get a new one or rebuild it anyway so try it.
He indicated that he can get a "new"? unit out of Dallas for $1800-2100.
WHat's a rebuild cost and how's that diffferent from just a repalcement ?
The readings here say DONT FLUSH IT
