HELP !
I have done this before in my expedition , my F150 , Yeah
The special disconnect tool hurts.
I need to find out how to release the pressure in the system before doing the fuel filter replace.
I know there is a valve somewhere around the fuel rail.
Can someone have a picture or describe it ?
I do see the rail, the pressure regulator but no valve to release the pressure... HELP !

I think that there is a schrader valve on the fuel rail; however, I do not know if this can be used to depressurize the whole system (your fuel filer has multiple connection points).

I just let mine sit overnight before I disconnected the lines to replace the filter. There was no pressure in it then.

Others have pulled the fuel pump fuse and run the engine until it died.

Be safe out there.

I need to check the fuel line pressure to assess the condition of the fuel pump. I have the Chilton manual that explains how to check the pressure, but the picture of the schrader valve is too much of a close-up to show me where it really is. Where should I be looking.

Thanks.

Found the schrader valve. It's right in the center of the engine bay. Pressure shot right up to 65 psi on starting the engine, so I guess that's not the problem.
