What are the tire sizes that can fit on a 2004 Xlt it keeps recommending P235/70R16? I honestly don't really even know what that means. I am looking at Firestone Destination A/T. .

What keeps recommending that tire size? Just look on your drivers, door jam door tag, it will tell you what is the factory tire size for your Explorer. Take a look at the thread link below. This thread is located 9 spots below yours here on the current, main board.

Thanks i figured it out now im just wondering if i can get a 245/70r16 even though my explorer's stock is 235/70r16?

I am running p265/75-R16 on my 2002 sport ..... so far no issues

Toyo open country at2 or cooper at3

I really like my open countrys so far .... good in the snow and on ice, tread life is suppose to be very good for a all terrain tire, I spent just over $700 for my set, not cheap but still not to bad

On 3rd gen Explorers, you can go up to 265's without rubbing issues. On what brand of tire to go with or what other brands people like, check the link I gave you or search the archives for past posts on what brands of tires people like to use. Just use the search box at the top of the forum and type a question into it, include your year, engine size and make Explorer into the question.
