OK, so I passed on the 2005 limited(http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238120)

Today I drove a 2004 V8 XLT (with leather), with 80,000km. Brand new tires and brakes and everything else looked great, except minor rust on the muffler. It drove fine except when I shift into reverse there is a "clunk" (they say they will fix it, though).

They want $13,500 (Canadian) and will not go much lower. [edit] I forgot to mention that price includes taxes etc..
So... deal, or no deal?

Thanks

If its clean and solid that's not an unreasonable price.

Edited to add that I agree with Castle's comments below. However, the dealer usually won't go to the expense of fixing something until a deal is papered and the problem becomes an issue for the purchaser. You may have to sign an agreement and leave a deposit first, but be sure to include a written clause that you have full discretion to cancel the deal and have your deposit returned before completion (or for a full refund within 10-days if the transaction closes) should you not be completely satisfied that the repair was completed correctly.

I wouldn't buy the truck on the condition they will fix the clunk.

I'd tell them to fix the "clunk" and when they do to give you a call and at that point you can talk about paperwork, price, etc.

Thanks
Any ideas what the noise might be? U-joint?
