This was her car. We got the car at about 90K. ATF might have been flush once but other clues suggest it was not.

At about 140 we blew the engine. Paid a shop to put a used engine in with 97K

Drove it for another year or two when the timing chain guides went and I put the bride in a Subaru. So the explorer is now my car.

It runs perfectly (other than timing chain guides which i am in the middle of)

Other than above issues the car has been great but we are on borrowed time, ATF has never been flushed, differntials have never been touched.

I don't have the time or the money to do everything that should probably be done. But I want to get it all done pretty soon as i make this my daily driver.

So, I'm asking, besides the transmission flush, what else is likely to bite me any time now?

I wouldn’t do flush, I’d just do a pan drop and filter.

If that Subaru is s 2.5 change the coolant every other year with the recommended Shell coolant and add the Subaru copper additive.

I agree, leave transmission alone. I would do the differentials and the transfer case fluid however (assuming it is 4x4).

218k on original trans fluid.
