Under the repair trouble shooting it says for For Sport Trac and Sport models use the 1995-2001 forum. I'm getting confused. I just got on this forum. I have a 2005 Explorer Limited AdvancedTrsc RSC Am I in the right forum?
I have a 03 Ranger also and we just got this Explorer, and the accel. pedal is so touchy it is crazy, it is beyond just getting used to. I have to put a little pressure on and wait till the revs starts to come up. If I forget and push it too hard the thing leaps forward wheels squek sometimes I get a knock in the frount end( I think the AdvanceTrac kicks in or something) Is the pedal adjustable?

Sounds like you have the 4.6l engine.

Follow this video to clean your throttle body: $20 in parts. Use throttle body cleaner only, an old tooth brush and DO remove the throttle body.

Then, reset your PCM:

What's happening, is there's enough of an oil crud build up that your electronic throttle has to over come. Causes a surge taking off. Ford has a TSB on this with as little as 10k miles on the engine.

If you have the 4.0, this doesn't usually apply.

Yes the 4.6L

I am doing the plugs now, just did four.....four tomorrow A.M. I'll clean it out.
Thanks
