I have a 4x4 V6 automatic 2.0l sohc 05 Ford Sport Trac and its got 219,000 miles on it. Before everybody starts going full fledged mechanic on me and grilling me for not knowing some of the questions about it, im 25.. this is only my 2nd car, (1st was an 04' Focus se). and my dad passed when i was 5 so i never got to learn on cars from him. the man who i take care of who helped me get my license and truck is a 74 yr old retired body mechanic but is in too frail shape to really help me with getting under the truck I honestly thought maybe it was a suspension issue or had to do with the shock absorbers since it would literally sway like a boat in the open ocean when going above 55-60..or over bumps.. I thought possibly the rear differential could have some part in it because i know that nobody ever checks it and was told by the last owner they didnt change oil in it.. But now im possibly wondering about the Body mount bushings?.. anybody solved this problemand how much could i expect to pay if i did the work myself but just in parts? I love my truck more than anything and even though i truly am a very good hands free driver, Im literally to the point I no longer feel that i have the I know im in control feeling where Im gonna be able to drive out of something like hitting a pothole on the Interstate where ppl go 70+mph and roads change in elevation every 30 ft.
