2008 Explorer XLT
I know there are alot of threads out here for transmission issues, but I am not sure which one to post in, so I'll start my own since my issue seems to be unique...

Vehicle:
2005 Explorer XLT 4.0L V6 - SOHC (150K Miles)
5R55S, N or W Transmission. (Not sure how to verify which one I have?)

Symtoms: Vehicle (slips/hesitates) when shifting between 2 & 3rd gear. Usually need to let off the gas for a few seconds, then it shifts. I have not noticed it with any other gears. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS WARM. On a cold start it will work normally until it warms up.

Check Engine light has NEVER come on and there are NO codes when scanned.

I have already dropped the pan, replaced the filter and filled back up with Mercon V, and REset the PCM to relearn the shift tables. This did not help. I am thinking it could be the solenoid, but not sure how to verify, or check. I have also read about the "Bore" issue, but not sure how to check for that either.

Any Advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Scott.

I doubt its the solenoids, sounds more like worn servo bores in the case.

Had the same issues on my 02 mountaineer. Did what u did to no avail. Bought new valves boys and solenoid. 4 months later still shifting like its new...
It was tough to spend that in hope it will work but it did.

Good luck
