I've got a 2005 Limited with the 4.6 and advance track. Cruise control doesn't work at all. I bought a cruise control cut-out switch (mounts to the master cylinder) and discovered mine does not have such a switch. It instead has a Hydraulic Pressure Transducer mounted to the bottom of the master cylinder. I have not tried to replace this as I'm not sure it's related.

I replaced the brake position sensor mounted above the pedal.

I've I bought a speed sensor for the rear differential and that also isn't the issue as I couldn't find one of these mounted to the rear diff. I assume mine has sensors on each wheel in the rear and since I don't have any warning lights or codes, I assume these are fine.

I've checked every fuse in the battery compartment box and all but a couple in the steering wheel area fuse box. All fine.

I check my break lights, all work.

Recently had a mechanic fix some electrical problems that stemmed from multiple broken wires in body-door wire harness.

Things I haven't done before posting:
1. New Hydraulic Pressure Transducer. Not sure it's related and don't want to take a $100 gamble.
2. New switch on steering wheel.

Any tips? I'd love to have this creature comfort working and I'm tired of ordering parts that don't exist on my model.

did you ever figure this out?

I'm very suprised no one is replying to these kind of issues...

I have the same issue. Replaced the steering wheel switch to no effect. Replaced the pressure transducer (full disclosure: ebay chinesium) to no effect. It might be due to a bad aftermarket remote start installation but it's not worth paying to have that rat's nest ripped out.

ETA I also replaced the brake pedal switch. No bueno.

Back a few years when this started on my 2005 Limited - it was clear from this forum that the major cause was the switches on the wheel.

I bought a clean set off the bay.

You have to disconnect battery, and play with your airbag etc, so since there have not been any long drives due to the LouFord 4L timing chain death wish, I haven't done it yet.

With a new horn contact issue now in the same area, maybe today is the day to get on this...

OK - changing the switches blind isn't hard. Only issue is that I cnaged them for a set no longer returnable - that the ONLY thing that worked was the tempeture. THe fan did not work, and since i have a OBDII pulg in, that code was set for a switch fault...

Changing the switches back to what was in there was easy, 15 minutes from pulling into the garage.

So tested and all, I bet not. THe only thing that was not working on my originals was the - decrease speed, all other functions on that side work.

The media button on the left side is a wash, I have a 12" touch screen and while the volume is paired, the original intest of the media button isn't in that 12" screen, so that one does not count.

Here is what you have to do to pull these switches out.

1. Disconnect the battery
2. The same socket you use to pull the pos cable, you use to pull the two screws that hold the air bag horn pad in, after you ahve used a small screw driver to pop the trim cover plugs.

3. Then - carefully remove the two air bag connectors. push in both sides - do not wiggle, they will slide up out when you have them held in correctly.

4. Then remove the red horn connector
5. The main connector is next to the air bag connector, pull that

6. Pull 4 phillips screws that hold the switches in, if you are lucky they won't be broken, the bottom ones of mine were.
7. At the top and sides there are hooks that hold the wire in place, you can push those and the wire comes out.

5. Now KEY, to get the wires out, they slide between the trim at the sides of the wheel, each side, real simple one you know this secret.

Reverse this and it all yours.
Here is a pic inside all this
