2005 Mountaineer in engine failsafe mode

Hi all,
I just replaced the altinator in the wife's Mountaineer (easy) but now its stuck in engine safe mode. Is there a reset for this? She drove it home from work yesterday with the "check charging system" light on and literally coasted into the drive way when truck shut down. I started it up after changing the alternator and ran it for 15 minutes. It idles fine but will not rev or drive in this safe mode. Any help will be greatly appreciated since she needs this by Monday!

get some throttle body cleaner, take the throttle body off. and clean it.

when you changed the alt, you cleared the pcm, probably a carbed or gunked up throttle plate is preventing the pcm from re learning idle.
