2005 Sport Trac Exhaust

Go with a spin tech pro street 9000. I love mine and it probably weighs about 50lbs less than the stock system. It has a custom sound like no other exhaust I've ever heard.

Here's a link to a guys exhaust on his 4.0L SOHC ranger

Holy crap, I was set on the Flowmaster single in dual out 50HD that was posted up above but I think you convinced me!

I did kinda want the dual tips coming straight out the back though. Would that be possible with that muffler?

You just installed the muffler only?
Yes, I'm pretty sure they don't make a full exhaust system. They strictly deal with mufflers only. I went to a local muffler shop and had the tech cut off my stock exhaust right after the cats and then installed the Spin Tech muffler. It's only about a two foot section compared to the stock 12 foot exhaust and doesn't weigh like 40-50 lbs.

You could do a dual exit out the back but you'd have to take it to a muffler shop and have them customize some exhaust pipes and weld them on to the muffler. It's not too expensive. For my little two foot section it only cost me about $60 at a local shop.

Just dropped mine off at the muffler shop. Thanks for showing the Spintech, I'd never even heard of that one and like I said I was set on the Flowmaster. But I think I'm going to be pleased with the results.

Nice, good work! Post some pics when you get it mounted up.

oh man, that Spintech 9000 series is bad-ass. which model fits our sport trac?

Hey guys I just got home from work a bit ago but I already took some pictures and I'm uploading a video to YouTube as I type this. I'll have a clip and some pictures here shortly!

How do you like it?

The Super Pro Street 9000 series 2.5" inlet 2.5" outlet will work perfectly fine on ours. Right after the stock cat our exhaust pipe is 2.25" but a shop can weld the 2.5" on no problem. The Spin Tech measures 4"x6"x9".

I freakin love it man. Thanks again for posting that up here. I'm so happy with it.

And a clip of it

couldn't really let it open up because of the whole 3500rpm limit thing while in neutral. But I love the way it sounds, I'm gonna hit a freeway ramp here in a few just to reeeeally open it up.

Does it matter if I get the inlet/outlet centered model or do I need to go with one of the models with the inlet or outlet offset?

Nope, I have the center inlet/center outlet. Works and sounds great!

Good job man. Looks good! I like that you went with the dual exit. Mine is just the single exit but yours looks cool. I wish I didn't have the rev limiter on though, kinda sucks about our trac's. I heard that superchips can remove the stock limiter. So I'll have to try it out and see.

be careful with that superchip, and removing the limiter.it is there to serve a purpose and helps prolong the life of your engine.

I understand our tracs do lack some oomph in the power department, but treat it right and that 4.0 can go 250k with just minor work necessary..that POS tranny on the other hand..

Thanks! I'm really happy with the way it turned out. yea the rev limiter is kind of annoying but it doesn't really bother me during day to day use. I just wish I could have revved it up a little more for the video.

Holy HELL That's EXACTLY how I want my truck to sound!!! Could you shoot some pics of the way they routed the pipes after the muffler?
