Just bought the car. I have two remote fobs. One works, the other does not. The battery checks out at about 3.15 volts. I understand the reprogram routine but my question is this: both remotes have 'made in china" on the back of them.
Do you think that these are OEM remotes? My wife has a 2005 Lincoln LS. Her remotes look very similar but there is a distinct difference in the icons on the buttons. Also, her remotes have FoMoCo stamped on the back and there is no reference to China.
Amazon.com has remotes for sale (cheap). They are Chinese and the icons look identical to the ones on mine. Did Ford go to China between 2005 and 2006?
I will try the reprogram proceedure when I get some time but it will be pretty hard to beat an Amazon replacement at $2.74 @
