I just purchased a 2006 Explorer Limited and it has the in dash touch screen navigation. On two other non-Limited Explorers I had looked at without Navigation, there was an AUX option on the radio. I don't see that in the Navigation.

Is there any way to add a non-FM auxiliary input to the OE radio setup?

AUX input on NAVI

I just installed a factory navi in my 2006 mountaineer..to get an AUX input I looked at every option and settled on the peripheral ..here is the link..http://www.autosoundcentral.com/Peripheral_PXAMG_PGHFD1_iPod_Adapter_p/pxamgpghfd1.htm what I like about this is that it gives you an iPod connection (charges it too) and gives you control of the iPod through the radio or the iPod itself..in addition you can also add another aux input..I chose to run my aftermarket DVD player through the stereo. cost about 139.00 and free shipping but absolutely worth it and the install was easy 20 minutes..plug and play!...hope this helps.

Thanks for the link GNT81. Little expensive though.

Are there any less expensive alternatives out there? I already have a DVD player.

On my DVD player in an '04 i have Aux input but no Nav, i bet the Nav is hooked up using the Aux circuit???? I thought ford had a kit for a phone that interrupted the DVD player might be an option if you can modify the harness. It essentially it (2) 20pin plugs that plug into the radio.
