2007 explorer v8

Hello Im a newbie here!
Just wanted to share my problem with my 2007 explorer eddie bauer v8 advanced trac control transmission problem im having now.

I bought this vechicle last december from a dealer with 69000 miles on it and test drove it before i puchased it. I drove it long enough to warm the tranny up and just before a complete stop there was a thump before comming to a complete stop. So the dealer sent it to his mechanic....he upgraded computer software and it fix the problem.

Now after when the tranny warms up...im not shure if its a slipage or what, but when you accelerate on the freeway from overdrive to the next gear it jerks or slips? it feels like someone is kicking me in the bumper...Im also noticing alittle jerk from stop to 1st gear?

My mechanic at my job hooked up his snapon scantool and said there were no error codes? the car runs great, dont feel any engine miss and drives good. I absolutly love the car...and hope it can be corrected.

Any help from you ford guru's would be greatly appreacated!

@Nharris, Thanks for the info...It does sound almost the same. Im just concerned with the overdrive bumping on acceleration at freeway speeds...? I just might have to be reprogramed or flashed again.

My 2007 V8 has the same problem. The very common bump feeling when coming to a stop was fixed back in 08 with a reflash with the new software. The slippage problem only started at about 70,000 (85,000 now). I had the trans fluid changed and it did not make a difference. It also does not shutter/slip with the OD off because it locks out
5th and 6th. I wonder if a reflash would help the situation.

@rstang50 I think im just gonna take it in to a ford shop and have to update the software...I really dont think its a mechical problem....I think the tranny is just getting the wrong instructions from the computer...I still dont know if i have the newest update...or maybe a reflash would help. Im just afraid of the huge $$$$ tranny fix sindrome....haha Let me know if you find out anything...

Thanks, let us know if the reflash works. I changed my plugs yesterday and the radiator is today.
