2008 Ford Explorer
Hello,

I have a 2008 Ford Explorer that I bought from my friends dads used car dealership about 4 months ago. The car from the start did have a "very small leak" in the Evap system. He told me that the engine light would not go on for another 20k or so miles. The car only has 56,600 miles on it currently. I do not believe after 4 months that I should have these problems. I have a leak in my rear axel shaft along with a leak in my fuel tank/fuel line. What do I do? It's at Ford currently getting looked at. The guy does not want to do anything about it. What can I do to fix this scenario?

Weird I though I replied to this thread but I guess it didn't post. For the evap leak try replacing your fuel cap with an OEM filler cap, also replace your fuel filter. If your fuel filter is clogged it will throw the evap code and turn your CEL on. For the rear axels I don't know a whole lot about those but I would see if you can replace the seals first to stop the leak or if that can't be done then replace the rear CV axels. Remember you may only be at 50k miles but your car is almost 10 years old. I would also do other things like tranny fluid change, flush radiator, full tune up including replacing your hoses and don't forget to change your oil and put a new air filter in it. This will all go a long way in keeping your car in newer shape.
