2008 pats/remote starter override switch ??

In the course of installing a trailer brake controller in my 2008 Explorer, I came across a small momentary switch and an LED that looks to be wired to the PATS and/or OEM Ford remote starter modules buried in the left side of the dash panel.. Sometimes pressing the switch causes the LED to light, other times it doesn't. Some research told me that this is something to do with either valet parking or programming a key or fob.

Does anyone have any information on this switch/LED and how it is used in a 2008?

Get the part number from the alarm module and google for the user manual, since it is an aftermarket unit, it's hard to tell how to use it, but yeah, usually, you push the button with the key on and get into valet mode, press it again to turn valet off
