2010 Explorer 4.0 won’t turn over

My son had a2010 ford explorer 4.0 and says the starter clicks once but won’t turn over said he has battery jumper cables on just to make sure battery has enough voltage is there any issues with this year and model? I am going there later this evening to look at it myself looking for any suggestions ahead of time

I would check voltage to the starter when the key is turned. Check for bad connections or corroded cables.
