2010 sport trac headrest problem solved

Hi,
My first post but I think you guys will find the info interesting. I bought a 2010 Ford Sport trac Adrenalin and was not comfortable with the "angle" head rests it came with. Actually it was uncomfortable driving it with the stock head rests. Got in touch with Ford and was given the runaround and started to grow unhappy with Ford and the uncomfortable seat. I considered after market Video head rests for replacement but the cost was too crazy. I saw a pair of used black leather FORD TAURUS head rests on Ebay and struck a deal for $45.00 plus $15.00 shipping - a total of $60.00 which was reasonable for this experiment. They arrived today and at first look the 2 metal rods which hold the head rest into the seat looked wider than the stock. The metal rods are flexable and I figured what the heck I will try them anyway. THEY FIT !!! and they look stock and now my seats are comfortable !! Do you think the 4th gen headrests will fit in a 3rd gen? I have a 2004, and am looking for a 06+ headrest...

Headrest fix

Do you know what year the Taurus headrests are that you put in your SportTrac?

You can clamp the original headrest and using a piece of pipe over the exposed headrest leg bend it (carefully) to change the angle. It worked for me - I couldn't stand the original angle either.

The head rests are 2001 - 2004 - you can get them on Ebay for around $45.00 a set

Thanks for this information! I found the headrests intolerable and was told to just turn them around which in effect, made them useless.

I had the same problem with my 2010 and I able to just put them in a vise and bend them

I also have a 2010 Adrenaline and hated the head rests. I am lucky enough to work at a Ford dealer and got some take offs from a 2012 Ford Explorer and they are the same fit, only they are the adjustable angle type and also looke factory. Thank god for that customer who we ordered DVD headrests for. Plus the adjustable "clicky" type are way better, and cushier too.
