- 2013 Ford Explorer XLT
Hello all. I'm having a bit of an stumping issue to me on my AC. 2013 Explorer XLT 3.5NA. AC sometimes blows cool, most of the time not, front and rear. It also sometimes has a musty smell to it.
I have checked the low pressure, 35psi with clutch engaged. Clutch stays engaged, condenser is in good shape (clear of debris, no bent fins), refrigerant pressure is good. Cabin air filter just replaced a few months ago, checked again to ensure it was clean, all good.
Felt low and high pressure lines, high pressure line is definitely hot, but could not find a really cold spot in the low pressure line anywhere.
Also occasionally notice the fan speed decreases on WOT or heavy acceleration.
I checked the lines to the rear evaporator under driver rear of vehicle, and noticed around the connection (unsure of the technical name) that I could feel decently cool air blowing out under the car.
I'm in Tennessee, so the weather is anywhere from 70-95. What are your recommendations to check, test or probe?
