Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. My husband and I just ordered our Ford Explorer 2013 ltd Kodiac Brown with pecan interior, 2nd row console fwd. The dealer searched and there wasn't any vehicle out there with the specs that we had. We had thought about going without the 2nd row console, but after viewing the posts on the forum, we decided that we would go ahead and have the console in the truck. The dealer is saying it should be anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks until we receive it. Hopefully it will be closer to 6. Any suggestions regarding the order process will be appreciated!

I’m sorry I missed your post before, JohnnyCJC; she’s gorgeous! :D The following is from page 46 of the 2013MY Explorer Owner Guide 3rd Printing:

“Deactivating and Activating the Belt-Minder Feature

WARNING: While the system allows you to deactivate it, this system is designed to improve your chances of being safely belted and surviving an accident. We recommend you leave the system activated for yourself and others who may use the vehicle. To reduce the risk of injury, do not deactivate/activate the system while driving the vehicle.
Note: The driver and front passenger warning are deactivated and activated independently. When deactivating or activating one seating position, do not buckle the other position as this will terminate the process.

Read Steps 1 - 4 thoroughly before proceeding with the deactivation or activation programming procedure.
Before following the procedure, make sure that:
• the parking brake is set
• the transmission selector lever is in position P
• the ignition is off
• the driver and front passenger safety belts are unbuckled
1. Turn the ignition on. DO NOT START THE ENGINE.
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off (approximately one minute).
3. Wait 10 seconds after the safety belt warning light turns off.
• Step 4 must be completed within 20 seconds after the completion of Step 3.
4. For the seating position being disabled, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times at a moderate speed, ending in the unbuckled state.
• After Step 4, the safety belt warning light will be turned on for three seconds.
5. Within approximately seven seconds of the light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
• This will disable the feature for that seating position if it is currently enabled.
• This will enable the feature for that seating position if it is currently disabled.”

Congrats and welcome to the forum, Tdjohnson7700! I’m able to keep tabs on your latest order status. For me to help, drop a line via PM with your VIN (if you have it) and/or the order number & dealer info. :D

10/12 - VIN Received
10/31 - Sticker Available

11/19 - Target delivery - hopefully this is accurate - we'll see! Maybe it'll show up early!?

I'm in NC - I would guess that where you are relative to Chicago will make a difference.

I was thinking that your location would impact delivery time - not so much for getting your VIN... I made sure I walked out the door with all my order info. I assume you got that as well?

That sucks, hang in there it should come soon. My dealer told me that the plants shut down for 2 weeks in December. WIth a Dec 3 build, im hoping that it gets built and out the door before they close. If not, then it will be after the 1st of the year...
