Just curious do you think it would possible to install a 2013 explorer sport engine in 2006-2010 explorer. I heard there are modules you can attach from the engine to the transmission when upgrading a vehicles engine.
But overall, these type of swaps cost tons of money and people never finish them due to engine management issues and fittment problems. Lots of custom parts to fabricate: brackets, engine mounts, tranny adapters, ....
There is a great thread in the Sport Track section where a speed shop installed a Coyote 5.0 in a 06-10 gen sport track. Lots of headaches.
Good luck with that, the explorer is an independent rear and the F150 has a solid axle. Plus the drivelines are a completely different length and who knows if the transfercase/transmission from the F150 will fit under the vehicle where it needs to go. Bottom line, too many unknowns.
well,
I have an f150 transfer case in my 2000 Mountaineer. Drive shaft length can be easily corrected. Drive shafts do not care if the rear axle is independent, or rigid. --The computer "should" work providing all the speed sensor stuff works out.
Do this please!!!!!!
I know this is a reach, but I would love to see the size of the ecoboost compared to a 5.0l pushrod engine. (slight hijack)
