2013 XLT 2nd row bucket seats not availalble yet ?

Hey guys,

As far as I know, buckets on the XLT are currently available; they’re optional on 202A. I’ll check to see if any there are any issues on ordering.

Cory
Cory, while they show as being an item that you can select with the 202A package, if you click on details it says. " The six-passenger seating configuration on the Limited model includes second-row bucket seats with a pass-through to the third row."

Why would it specifically state Limited model if it was available on the XLT? That is what I find confusing and assumed that is why Texas Explorer's salesman could not find an ordering code for them on the XLT.

Hey everyone,

Small correction: I confirmed that the 2nd row bucket seats won’t be available on the XLT until March 5th.

You’re right, Peter; that’s a mistake on the site. We’ll get it fixed. :D

You got it Texas.

I just ordered through Military Sales. 2013 XLT, Tuxedo Black, Medium Light Stone, Rapid Spec 202a, BLIS, Second Row Buckets, Cargo Shade and Roof Rack Cross Bars.

The order sheet says that the second row buckets are on hold, but available Mar 05

-Hope that helps.

Hey guys,

Edit: The 2nd row bucket seats won’t be available on the XLT until March 5th.

The buckets do not have arm rests, with or without a console.

The console is not designed to be added after production.

No offense taken, ExploreThis2012. :)

Hey guys, thanks for the info. That sounds good.

You’re welcome, Texas Explorer. As an update, I just received new timing for the XLT 2nd row buckets and unfortunately production has now been delayed from March 5th to May 7th.

Cory,

My dealer confirmed the may 7th order date, but cannot confirm an exact price. I would like to know the price before I decide to order on My 7th (only a few weeks away). Where can I get that information? Also, he told me there was no way of knowing when we could expect delivery?! Any numbers or projections on production?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum HambonesNewRide.:wavey:
I just went to Ford.com and did a build on a 2013 Explorer and it shows the 2nd row buckets as being $750 and the console, if desired, is $100. On the Canadian model they are $500 and $150 for the console.

HambonesNewRide,

Welcome to the board! It looks like Peter already jumped in and hit that on the nose. I can research your latest order status; shoot me a PM with your VIN and/or order number & dealer code/dealer info. :)

Cory,

I do not have an order number yet, as we cannot order the 13' with 2nd row buckets until May 7th... correct?

Thanks,

Hambone

I think you can order it now, it just wouldn't start manufacturing until May 7th and after. I would expect an extended wait time for assembly as the rest of the previous XLT orders will have to be cleared out before they have the opportunity to start building yours.

Of course, what do I know? lol :)

Yes, the production for the XLT 2nd row buckets has been delayed to May 7th. VinceL is right; you can still order it, but it won’t be scheduled until later.

Apparently you know a lot, VinceL. ;)

Im not sure what to tell you guys , but i have a factory order number including second row buckets.

Same here, and a firm price from dealer - unless Ford offers another discount/incentive that was not available at time of order, then I get that as well. Your Dealer should be able to build order, privide you with a DORA - dealer order receipt acknowledgement that will list options you want & price.

However, it has been 25+ days since I made my order and I still don't have a VIN. I see others with other builds and they get a VIN 7-14 days after order. :( But so far no answer why a delay in VIN generation for these XLT builds.

I think VIN#'s are only generated a certain time before the actual assembly, not from when the DORA is processed. If you have a component on your car that is delaying its production, it makes sense that the assignment of a VIN might be delayed until closer to the actual build time. My understanding is that VIN#'s are the responsibility of the factory, not the sales department.

That is what I was going to say as well Vince. I guess you were a littel quicker on the trigger. I miss Trigger and Roy and Dale. :D

Thx VinceL. :salute: You are first to explain the VIN relationship to materials delay. I understood dealer/sales didn't assign VIN.

The Ford website shows front seats are same as Limited leather trim (adding 2nd row captain puts you in 202A package). I believe the 2nd row seats are same as Limited. My suggested funny guess on delay: is that since the XLT 202A has a 9 speaker system instead of other XLT's with 8 speakers- that the delay is due to sourcing this extra speaker. LOL. Just kidding.

Back to counting days down to May 7 or later for build date.

YW!

The part I don't understand as well, is why the Limited models are getting built with the buckets, but not the XLT's.

Hey guys,

The leather used on the Limited 2nd row buckets is unique to the Limited. Update: the 2nd row buckets on the XLT are currently scheduled for production on July 9th.

Man does this news stink. :thumbdwn: With our luck they will be producing Sport packages before we get ours. My B-day is late July, it better not slip any further.

Ohhhhh, okay. I did not realize the leather was different. Thanks!
