2014 Explorer power lift gate issue

I am having an issue with the power lift gate on my 2014 Explorer. When you try to open the liftgate ( no matter if you use the button on the key or the button on the door) it attempts to open but does not lift. It makes the sound of the door releasing but gets stuck. Thanks for your help.

What happens if you manually lift it to its full height? Does it stay up? If it does, then are you able to close it using the fob or the button on the dash? The issue could be the liftgate motor/actuator.

Yes if you lift it to it’s full height it does stay open. Yes once it’s open you can use the fob or button on dash to close it. So likely the motor/actuator is the problem then. Thanks for your help.
