is there any way to bypass the PATS or disable it? i have a high end scan tool but i didnt see anything for PATS in the options....do i need FORSCAN for this?

im guessing the issue is a bad key? we tried replacing the battery in the key - code is B10D7 PATS error

car is 2015 - we just need to start it up so we can move it somewhere while we wait for the spare key - there's no way to bypass it?

Did you try the link to the Internet article?

I'm a Ford technician and we have no way to disable at Ford, we usually pop off the shift cable and put it in neutral and push them around.

Doing an Internet search, I found the following; Bypass Ford PATS without key — easy and quick guide | REREV

That article makes no sense to me. Bypass it by taking a chipped key that's already programmed in, which would mean that you don't need to bypass it instead of starting it normally, then take the chip out and put next to the receiver, then copy that key to another key - which if the key were good enough to copy, should again work normally to start the vehicle, instead of using the new cut key to start the vehicle.

I suppose there is a narrow window of opportunity there, if the old key has worn down too much to work in the lock cylinder, but a locksmith can figure out the original cut depths to cut a new key without that wear on it, but then you could just get a new chipped key and swap the chips, not needing to keep the chip loose, or of course have the new chipped key programmed.

If the key is not "bad" but just not programmed in, or somehow the vehicle lost the key programming, then you can use Forscan to program in that or another valid key, using the extended license version of Forscan on a windows host device (laptop, tablet or even PC), or have a dealer shop program it. Otherwise the only way to circumvent PATS is to flash a new tune to the vehicle that removes PATS, and there are online services that can do this if you send them the PCM. A local motorsports shop that does tunes might also be able to. Call and ask.

No, you cannot bypass the PATS system with Forscan.

The article that was linked to is borderline garbage. It's a variation of what I call a "redneck PATS bypass" where a valid, already transponder ("chip") is simply put into or near the transceiver (antenna) ring.

Used to see that quite often on remote start systems, really messed it up when you were trying to program a new key and didn't know about it.
