2016 Explorer Limited won't start

If your battery is dead or low check the alt. If this is the first battery you replaced after 7 years you are lucky.

It appears that at times it isn't starting because perhaps the vehicle doesn't see itself as being in 'Park', although no warning is given. Moving the shifter could possibly fix that. Thus I suspect the shifter could be the issue or part of it.
