2016 Ford Explorer Sport TPMS Part#

I want to order new sensors for my winter tires however when I was quoted from the dealer, they just listed the part code as TPMS35 for the sensors and TPMS19 for the transmitter/programmer. I know I can find the sensors cheaper on ebay or something as they are for my winters. If it is to much to do I may not even put them in.

Does anyone know the part numbers for the sensors and transmitter/programmer tool for a 2016 ford explorer sport?

I have to give it to you peterk9 you track this site carefully, I have been on here now about 2-3 months reading like mad. I do not post to much, only when i can help but the site has been very informative and very well maintenanced. I landed up picking up these on ebay and keeping my fingers crossed that they work.

TPMS Sensors

I check the ETis ford system and it labeled them as TPMS 315MHz on the build so I figured it is not a whole lot of money if worst case. Thanks for getting back to me as I figured this thread was gone. You do not miss a thing!

I am awaiting delivery of my 16 sport and have already an office full of accessories waiting. i feel like a kid again... only thing left is 4 interceptor rims for my blizzaks DM-V1. i have a place outside chatham, i have read windsor i think was the cheapest dealership to get these from. think i read somewhere $88ea, going that way for the long weekend anyway.

I know I read something somewhere they have changed things for 2016 but nothing was determined or confirmed. Is there a way of testing the sensors before installing them in the tires?

When I was quoted from the dealership the part# was TPMS35 @ $81.58 ea. Thx for the aforementioned website, something to browse around, i love all the ford support and tracking on the order, great customer service so far! I did buy everything else from my local dealer as their prices were very comparable. I believe in buying local, within reason, as i am a small business owner.

BTW if you go on fordparts.com and enter your vin and do a key word search of TPMS you will find them rather quickly. It will list what fits your vehicle.

Alright, I have a question. I looked up my 2017 Explorer Sport on fordparts.com and got this part:

Now they also have other pieces like valve caps, etc. Do I need anything else or just that. The price is $38.18 USD per TPMS or $152.72 for four.

On amazon.com, there is a 4-pack for $68.99. But they don't look exactly the same.

Or I can just wait until my appointment and get them for a whopping $82 CDN each. And they want to charge me $102 for the programming tool.

Should I order on Amazon, or is it some cheap clone that I'll regret getting? Looking at the closeups, it says it's made in the USA by FoMoCo (Ford Motor Company) and is 315Mhz.

FYI, when I had the TPMS installed at the dealer on my MKT in 2014 the list price was $63.82 and I got then for $55 and they came with the valve caps. I'm guessing they are the same item.

I just ordered the parts on Amazon and will report back in a couple weeks once I attempt to get them installed.

I was told by Fordparts.com that the 2017's (at least my VIN) have embedded training transmitters and don't need the reprogramming tool. I love how everyone I talk to has a different idea of how this is supposed to go down.

I have a 2016 Sport and put ebay orderd "Ford Motorcraft 315MHZ TPMS Sensors Set of 4 w/ TPMS-19 Programmer" and they worked perfect for me last winter. I did not even need the programmer, just put them on and start driving and everything worked normally. I paid $176.21USD for the transaction.

Good to know! Once tires are rotated or switched out for seasonal changes, do you just put the car in retraining mode? Press start, then toggle the hazard lights 3 times?

Can you confirm that the correct tires are shown in the right locations? There have been discussions saying that the system although the system seems to be working it won't know that tire A is now in position D for example.

Weird... I can't get the link to work through redirect here... otherwise it redirects to the amazon.ca site and fails. Alternatively you can just go to amazon.com and search for F2GZ-1A189. The vendor is aptly called "Ford". The description says

But it works on 2017 Explorers too. Exact same part.
