2016 explorer xlt
Hi guys, first post here.

I have a 2016 explorer 4x4 xlt with the 2.3 ecoboost. I sprung a leak a couple months ago which was just 1 or 2 drips a day and has gotten progressively worse. Does this look like an oil pan leak? Idk where else this could be coming from.

Thanks in advance!

I can't tell for sure where the oil is coming from. Have you had an oil change done since it began dripping? Or was it dripping prior to an oil change?

It was leaking prior to my last oil change.

Maybe power wash all that off at a DIY car wash, put some UV dye in the oil, drive a little, and get under there with a UV flashlight?

Otherwise it's hard to tell much from just seeing oil drip from the lowest point, because gravity and then there's the airflow from driving.

How many miles on it and what is your oil change mileage interval? Regular oil contains seal sweller additives but if the OCI is too long, it could benefit from either shorter OCI's or a high mileage oil, IF what is leaking, is a rubber seal. Then again if the mileage isn't high, I wouldn't just stop there instead of finding the leak and potentially fixing it the right way.

Awesome thanks for the advise, I’ll try the uv dye this week. It has 100k miles, and I use high mileage oil every 5k miles
