2020 Explorer Limited Hybrid Production

Are we talking about dates outside of the box, below the bottom line? On the Window Sticker of my Aviator the number of the right 1201910091452 I take to be the Build Date which in my case is the same as the Blend Date shown at the very top. There is another date,10/29/2019, slightly to the left of center and that is the date the 'Sticker' was pulled up. Other then that, there is no other number. The Build Date for my 2011 Explorer was also on the far right.

Below are examples of real Dealer Ordered 2020 Explorer Limited Hybrids that confuse me - - -

Top Blend Date Outside-Bottom-Left Date Outside-Bottom-Right Date
120190928 11/03/2019 120190928
120191025 10/25/2019 120191025
120191103 10/25/2019 120191103

Blend Date I understand. I am not uncertain exactly what each of the other two mean. Additional information from anyone would be appreciated.

A little more on Ford Explorer VIN dates. The pic below shows the 4 dates that I find on a 2020 Explorer Hybrid VIN. What information Dates 2-4 mean is what I was referencing in the previous post.

Window sticker mumbo jumbo ?
My point in posting was to understand which of Dates 2-4 is the actual build date. Some of us who ordered 3 months ago are inquisitive and would like to know as we wait. Thanks for your reply.

I've always taken the numbers at the bottom right to be the build date.

Finally, some really good news. Dealers in the Houston, Texas area have just received 10 2020 Explorer Limited Hybrid's that were Dealer Ordered. Now, the ice is broken and maybe all who are waiting Customer Ordered versions will soon be coming.:party:

Were any of them AWD and/or with the Towing Package that you can see? I'm waiting for a Hybrid with both...

I am waiting for an AWD version also. I found Hybrids in Texas as indicated. However, I believe they are the first ordered for dealer stock but all are RWD versions. I also found similar on order for stock Hybrids in the Atlanta, Nashville, and Birmingham. All of then are RWD versions. I assume Ford will do a batch of AWD's soon including yours and mine. I have not checked on Towing Packages.

Well my Aviator Hybrid finally went to production this afternoon, 11/11/19.

"Sent to Plant","primaryStatus":"In Production",

I hope you are right, my AWD Hybrid w Towing package has been "In Production" since 11/4 with no dealer arrival date available.

Well what does it say about the production date, the ship date or the in transit dates? All of those will happen before a dealer delivery date and I'm not too sure what or if you'll get an eta. date on dealer arrival. Not sure where you are located but it typically takes 4 to 5 weeks in shipping. The killer is if it arrives at the shipping yard and there are not any other vehicles going to the dealer's area, they'll wait until they have a full transport to deliver, or if it gets to where a bunch of other vehicles are behind it in the lot, those have to be delivered before they can even get to yours.

For what it's worth, all Aviator Hybrids are AWD and the trailer hitch package on mine was $500

  • Here is what I have
    Blend date 10/24/2019 (from Window Sticker)
    Processing: 7/21/2019
    In Production: 11/4/2019
    Awaiting Shipment:
    In Transit:
    Dealer Delivery Est: N/A

So there's no production date, shipment date or transit date?

This is a section of the second line on my order sheet and they are above the processing and status dates;
"productionDate":"","shipmentDate":"","transitDate":""

I'm looking at the shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking web page for my information. Production date is stuck on 11/4/19 with no shipment or transit dates... the Blend Date on the online vehicle sticker is still 10/24/19.

I'm in southern California so there should be shipments on a regular basis, no long queue to get shipped to the boonies.... :-)

I'd be after my dealer to find out what's going on because, and I hate to mention this, but they occasionally get damaged after they roll off the line trying to get them to the rail yard and loaded onto the rail cars. Your dealer should be able to get you some more information.

Dealer has the same info: crickets from Chicago.. There is the little kid in the back of my head bouncing up and down "are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet???" Patience is a virtue, or so I've heard..

Someone isn't playing straight with you. In checking with the dealer, they finally sent me a copy of what they get every week, I believe on Thursdays and mine showed all the previous dates I was told it would get built but didn't and the one thing I noticed, was the blend date never changed. Today, Sunday 2019/1201, has always been the same. So I guess we'll see sometime next week if it did actually go on the line today.

My point being that my dealer has had all that information for some time, but the first time they told me it would be today despite me checking with them once a week, was this last Monday.

I have been "chasing" these Explorer Hybrids for the last 6 months now, and have called every dealer that shows these 2020 Explorer Hybrids on their on line inventory. When I get the Fleet Mgr or Sales Mgr on the line, they verbally confirm the car being there, but when I ask for images or for them to 'touch' the actual car, they have come back with - 'car is not there yet'.

Can any one tell me which dealers have them that have been confirmed by any one that the vehicle is actually there?

per the Ford Vehicle Ordering Tracking site, there is an AWD Hybrid Limited slated to arrive in Michigan in 6 days....
