I have a 2021 RWD Explorer and will be changing Reqr Diff fluid soon and just had a couple questions. What fluid do you guys prefer (Brand and weight) and should you add additive?
Also is just fill till fluid steadily starts coming out of fill hole?
Thanks.
Can't find much info on subject for particular year assuming it's different.

Regular Motor craft will be perfectly fine. Not different then any other car.

I'd go with what is shown in the manual. See page 397 of the 2nd printing.

If this is a DIY project I would order out a couple of Quarts of the recommended Amsoil fluid, a new cover gasket and be done with it, forever. Just me, a lot of opinions out there, few are wrong. All the info is on there website.

The 75w-85 is $30/qt and there are some that have made a case that the fluids Ford is using is too thin. Probably to get 1/10th of a mpg.... And going to the cheaper 80w-90 $12/qt.

I'm going to change mine over Christmas break. I got the OEM Motorcraft fluid.

Good choice, the 75-85 oil would be synthetic 80-90 for low cost is conventional dino.
